Arbuthnot House is about 200 years old and, while retaining its original character, has been extensively modernised. The hallway is wide and welcoming. The guest bedrooms are reached by a curved stone stair with a wrought iron balustrade. The double bedroom has a feature private bathroom; the two twin bedrooms are ensuite.
Visitor accommodation comprises a sitting room lined with books (including many books, maps and guides on Scotland). Andrew has extensive knowledge of Scotland, Scottish issues (including Scotch whisky), and is happy to help guests with ideas on sights and attractions of interest to them.
Breakfast is served in the dining room, which is furnished
with Regency upholstered chairs and Victorian mahogany table. The dining room
overlooks the front garden.
